Shaking the Resource Tree
Training non-profit leaders on fundraising
In addition to our monthly training series, open to the general public, we design and faciliate specific fundraising training for their groups.
Client Organization
The Lutheran Elementary School Association partners with parents
and 37 Lutheran elementary schools in the metro St. Louis area.
Bringing together a unique combination of caring, talented teaching;
progressive academics; and Christ-centered values, the Association’s
member schools serve families who want more than the basics.
Client Objective
Most of the member schools find themselves in the position of needing
to raise funds without prior fundraising knowledge. The Lutheran
Elementary School Association hired Paradigm Shift Studio to facilitate
a multi-session “fundraising 101” training series for
30 member school administrators.
What We Did
Through the training, Paradigm Shift Studio helped administrators:
- Identify and create development teams for support;
- Write a case statement for their school;
- Identify their spheres of influence and develop plans for making
the ask;
- Create and mail their first annual fund appeal.
In addition, we:
- Helped administrators understand how to create a multi-dimensional
fundraising program;
- Facilitated a Lutheran education visioning session.
Outcomes
As a result of the program, administrators gained the knowledge and
support needed to create successful fundraising pieces for their individual
schools. Each participant left the training series with a “best
practices toolkit “ of ideas, and administrators learned how
to “make an ask” and role-played to build confidence.
Consequently, many of the schools have celebrated the success of creating
and mailing their first direct mail campaign. One school raised over
$55,000 on its first campaign. |
